Power outages reported in several areas due to bad weather

Power outages have been reported in several areas, including Mahiyanganaya, Ampara and Vavunathivu due to inclement weather-related incidents, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) confirmed.

Sri Lanka-bound flights to be diverted to India during weather emergency

The Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Anura Karunathilake, has announced that all flights arriving in Sri Lanka will be diverted to Trivandrum or Cochin airports in India if they are unable to land at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) during a weather emergency.
